The Firemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago (FABF), established in 1887, was created for the purpose of providing retirement, disability, death, and survivor benefits for fire service employees and their dependents. They are employed under the provisions of the Municipal Personnel Ordinance of the City of Chicago. This site is intended to assist these employees and their dependents in planning for retirement and managing their benefits by providing tools and resources such as the retirement estimator, news regarding the Fund, event details and required forms. The Fund is governed by Chapter 40, Act 5, Article 6 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
